The vehicle has roof that can be moved from a position in which it covers the passenger compartment into a stowage position in the rear of the vehicle. The roof is attached to a cover frame with cover rod parts and at least one drive element for moving the roof between a closed position and the stowage position. A drive element is in the form of an operating control element (10) movable by muscle power and arranged in the passenger compartment whose movement can be converted into opening and/or closing movements by a converter linkage (11).
