<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller capable of driven on both a battery and USB bus power. <P>SOLUTION: A mechanism (USB connector) for obtaining a standby power supply is provided in preparation for exhaustion of residual capacity of the battery. Thus, all operation keys are provided only on the remote controller, and further, electronic equipment can be operated even if the residual capacity of the battery of the remote controller is exhausted. Further, when the residual capacity is small, a user is urged to prepare a standby battery.
