摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UWB transmission device and a reception device which can perform high-quality data transmission without reducing a transmission rate by setting the total number of repeat pulses of a UWB-IR system without restrictions and performing weighting to encoded bits. <P>SOLUTION: The transmission device includes an encoder, a pulse generator 30, a transmission controller 40, a parallel-serial converter 50, and an antenna 90, and the pulse generator has a first pulse train generator 31, a second pulse train generator 32, ..., and an n-th pulse train generator 33. A k-bit information bit string is inputted from an information signal source 10, and the encoder 20 encodes the k-bit information bit string to an n-bit encoded bit string of a parallel sequence at an encoding rate (k/n), and n repeat pulse trains are generated by the pulse generator 30 and transmitted as UWB-IR from the antenna 90.
