PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that it is difficult for an operator having low visual lines like a state sitting on a wheelchair to visually recognize the surface of an original platen or an automatic original feeder and to place an original on the original platen. SOLUTION: A UI part having a camera 60 and a display part 50 is arranged on the upper end part of an image forming apparatus 1. The placed state of an original 90 on the upper surface of the original platen 20 is photographed by the camera 60 and its image is displayed on the display part 50. Alternatively, a mirror is provided to the lower surface of an original cover plate 70 so that the placed state of the original 90 can be checked by a reflected image. Consequently even an operator who can not visually recognize the surface of the original plate 20 because of low visual lines can easily place the original 90 on a prescribed position.
