PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trimming imaging apparatus with a simple configuration capable of suppressing image quality deterioration while ensuring a zoom effect nearly equal to that of an optical zoom lens. SOLUTION: The trimming imaging apparatus includes: a multi focal length variable power optical system having at least two different focal lengths; an imaging means for converting an object image formed by the multi focal length variable power optical system into an electronic image; a first image processing means for applying electronic image processing to the output signal of the imaging means so as to form object images of the focal lengths of the multi focal length variable power optical system, respectively; and a second image processing means for using the object images formed by the first image processing means for original images and trimming the original images, and the trimming imaging apparatus supplements an object image with a field angle corresponding to a focal length between the focal lengths of the multi focal length variable power optical system by the trimming image formed by the second image processing means.
