PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting structure for a steering column which increases the supporting rigidity of the steering column, and reduces the vibration occurring on a steering wheel. SOLUTION: The upper section of a steering column bracket 14 which attaches the steering column 12 to a cab is fixed to an instrument member 18 as a constituent member of an instrument panel. In the meantime, an intermediate section of the steering column bracket 14 is fixed to a pedal bracket 20 which supports a pedal. Thus, the total length of the steering column bracket 14 becomes shorter, and in addition, the intermediate section is fixed to the pedal bracket 20 which is firmly integrated with the cab. Therefore, the attaching rigidity of the steering column bracket 14 to the cab, i.e., the supporting rigidity of the steering column 12 can be increased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
