OPTICAL DISK RECORDING AND REPRODUCING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a plurality of independent recording with different line density for an optical disk in which data are recorded with fixed line density. SOLUTION: A recording region of an optical disk in which a wobble signal is previously and continuously recorded with fixed line density from the most inner periphery to the most outer periphery is divided into a plurality of recording regions, data are recorded so that line density is different in these plurality of recording regions. A PLL/wobble decoder 4 and a spindle controller 7 control the spindle motor 2 and rotates the optical disk 1 with fixed linear speed so that a wobble signal read out from the optical disk 1 is synchronized with the reference clock. An EFM clock/bit rate generator 11 generates an EFM clock by frequency-multiplying/dividing an ATIP clock extracted from the reference clock or the wobble signal with different ratios N for each recording region of the optical disk 1. An EFM/CD decoder 9 and a write-strategy circuit 10 record data in the optical disk 1 conforming to the generated EFM clock. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
