PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyester-based artificial hair keeping physical fiber properties such as flame retardance, tensile strength and the like of conventional polyesters, excellent in settability, hand feeling and processing stability and having extremely high flame retardance. SOLUTION: The flame retardant polyester-based artificial hair keeping physical fiber properties such as flame retardance, tensile strength of conventional polyesters, excellent in settability, hand feeling, transparency and processing stability and having extremely high flame retardance is produced by melt spinning a composition comprising a polyester and a composition prepared by melting and kneading a bromine-containing flame retardant with an antimony compound.
