PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of accurately calculating calories consumed in the cleaning operation and displaying the calculated calories. SOLUTION: When a user inputs sex, age and weight on a control panel (Step S1: Yes), an Ea value and a modulus of change are determined based on the inputted information (Step S2). When a power switch is turned on, a clock part starts measuring the on-time of the switch (Step S3). When the power switch 86 is turned off and the cleaning operation is terminated (Step S4: Yes), the on-time of the switch 86 is calculated by the clock part 19 (Step S5). Then, the consumed calorie is calculated based on the weight of the user, the Ea value, the modulus of change, and the on-time of the switch (Step S6), and the calculated value is displayed on the control panel (Step S7).
