<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound originating from a genuine Japanese horse radish obtained by using a raw material rich in eating experiences and derived from a natural raw material, i.e., the natural genuine Japanese horse radish, especially from its leaves, further, an antioxidant, a food, a health food or a food additive, containing the compound and exhibiting active oxygen-eliminating activity, and further a cosmetic exhibiting the active hydrogen-eliminating activity, ultraviolet-absorbing activity and ultraviolet light hazard inhibitory activity. <P>SOLUTION: This compound is originated from the genuine Japanese horse radish, especially constituted by a compound having a specific structural formula and extracted from the leaves of the genuine Japanese radish. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
