<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed indication device for a fork lift truck, in which a post-installation is facilitated. <P>SOLUTION: A magnet element 32 is attached in the outer peripheral edge of the wheel section 23 of the front wheel 31 of the fork lift truck 1. A pulse sensor 42 is attached in the tip 28 of a cover member 27, covering the front wheel 31. The magnetic field, from the magnet element 32 which varies accompanying the rotation of the front wheel 31, is sensed by the pulse sensor 42. A pulse signal, synchronized with the rotation of the front wheel 31, is outputted from the pulse sensor 42, and the running speed of the fork lift truck 1 can be sensed from the rotation of the front wheel 31, by only attaching the pulse sensor 42 at a position facing separately from the front wheel 31.
