PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic charge image developing toner which hardly causes offset phenomenon and winding phenomenon in a wide temperature range when a toner image formed by development is fixed to a transfer medium by a normal heat roller fixing device, and which has excellent fixing characteristics and resistance against melt sticking, and also to provide a method for manufacturing the toner. SOLUTION: The electrostatic charge image developing toner is obtained by pulverizing and classifying a resin composition comprising at least a binder resin, a release agent and a colorant, wherein the average number density of the release agent particles is 1 to 6 particles/100μm<SP>2</SP>and the particle flatness degree F(=(A)/(B)) defined as a ratio of the average major diameter (A) to the average minor diameter in the cross section of the release agent particle is 2 to 10.
