PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera with a stroboscope control apparatus. SOLUTION: The digital camera includes a strobe, an ambient light sensor for generating a signal, representing the intensity of an ambient light near the digital camera, and the strobe controller. The strobe controller can receive signal from the ambient light sensor and host signal from the main controller of the digital camera. When the stroboscope controller can be made enabled by the host signal and is enabled, it can control the optical output of the stroboscope, in response to the intensity of the ambient light, when at least a user of the digital camera instructs the digital camera to take a photograph, by using the shutter button of the digital camera.
