PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-conditioner having an equalized velocity of wind on the front face of a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: A heat exchanger chamber 5 storing an upper stage heat exchanger 3A and a lower stage heat exchanger 3B is arranged on the upper inside of a casing 1 and a machine chamber 6 mounted with a compressor 2 is arranged on the lower inside. The heat exchanger chamber 5 and the machine chamber 6 are separated and partitioned from each other with a sectionally recessed partition wall part 7. An upward fan 4 communicated with the heat exchanger chamber 5 is arranged on the top face of the casing 1 so that air pressure drop in the upper stage heat exchanger 3A is greater than that in the lower stage heat exchanger 3B. With the upper and lower stage heat exchangers 3A, 3B arranged in the upper inside of the casing 1, heat exchanging efficiency is improved by utilizing the fact that the velocity of wind passing through the heat exchanger is higher as closer to the upward fan 4. With the air pressure drop in the upper stage heat exchanger 3A higher than that in the lower stage heat exchanger 3B, the velocity of wind is lower in the upper stage heat exchanger 3A and higher in the lower stage heat exchanger 3B. Thus, the velocity of wind on the front face of the upper stage heat exchanger is equalized to that on the front face of the lower stage heat exchanger. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
