PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method for a building, which enables a storage space and a room space to be efficiently arranged in the building, while suppressing an increase in the height of the building to the utmost, and the building. SOLUTION: At least two types of building construction are selected from among a first building construction B1 wherein a first story section serves as a storage space K1, second and third story sections serve as a room space R1 and fourth and fifth story sections serve as a room space R2, a second building construction B2 wherein the first and second story sections serve as a room space R3, the third story section serves as a storage space K2 and the fourth and fifth story sections serve as the room space R2 and a third building construction B3 wherein the first and second story sections serve the storage space R3, the third and fourth story sections serve as a room space R4 and the fifth story section serves as a storage space K3.
