PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a printed sample in which efficiency of materials and labor and shortening of preparing time are made possible and quality equivalent to that of main product can be secured. SOLUTION: The method for preparing the printed sample comprises a process for attaching cloth to be printed for sample to the surface of an endless belt by using an automatic screen printing machine having an endless belt, a screen printing unit and a plurality of kinds of screens for carrying out printing of plurality of colors and intermittently conveying cloth to be printed in a prescribed feed pitch by the endless belt and carrying out printing when the endless belt is stopped, a printing process for intermittently feeding the cloth to be printed to printing position at which screen printing unit is provided by normal rotation of the endless belt, and a heading process for returning the top in the moving direction of the cloth to be printed in normal rotation of the endless belt to an original printing position by reverse rotation of the endless belt by the printing process after printing by the printing process. In the method for preparing the printed sample, printing of a plurality of colors is carried out by alternately repeating the printing process and the heading process and exchanging the screen of the screen printing unit whenever printing by the printing process is finished.
