摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly grasp the situation of molten slag at the furnace bottom part of a gasification furnace thereby to early and correctly detect the changes in the situation of slag discharge. SOLUTION: The monitoring device is equipped with an ultrasonic probe 5, arranged at the back surface of the furnace bottom part 3 of the gasification furnace, for radiating ultrasonic waves from the furnace bottom part 3 towards the inside of the furnace to detect reflected waves and with an ultrasonic thickness meter 8 for measuring the thickness of molten slag 1 in the furnace before discharge based on signals detected by the ultrasonic probe 5, and detects the changes in the situation of molten slag discharge based on the measured value by the ultrasonic thickness meter 8.
