PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturizable corrosion thinning testing device and a corrosion thinning test method, which grasp quantitatively a corrosion thinning characteristic of a ceramic material or a heat-resistant metal material, and have excellent safety, economical efficiency and operability. SOLUTION: In this corrosion thinning testing device wherein atmospheric gas adjusted to have a prescribed composition and heated to a prescribed temperature is allowed to flow continuously into a test body installation part where a material test body is installed, a portion from a gas heating part to the test body installation part is constituted together by a ceramic tube and installed in the same heater space, and a gas passage sectional area of the gas heating part is set larger than a gas passage sectional area of the test body installation part.
