PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable prompt fault localization and blocking processing by grasping an operation state of each disk drive in a disk subsystem connected with the FC-AL. SOLUTION: In the disk subsystem including a drive enclosure housing a plurality of disk drives and a disk control unit for controlling data transfer stored in the disk drives between a host computer and the above drive enclosure, the drive enclosure has a backend switch connected to the disk drives and the disk control unit. The above backend switch includes a state supervision port for outputting the operation state of each switch port provided in the backend switch concerned.
