PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly electrify an image carrier by preventing an electrifying roller arranged proximately to the image carrier from being bent in a shaft direction by pressing. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with an electrifying device 1 arranged proximately to the surface of the image carrier 2 in whose image area an electrostatic latent image is formed by an exposure device 3 and where a developer image is formed by a developing device 4, and uniformly electrifying the image area along the outer periphery of the image carrier 2. The electrifying device 1 is equipped with abutting parts 1a which abut on the image carrier 2 at both ends on the outside of an electrifying part arranged proximately to the surface of the image carrier 2 and uniformly electrifying the image area, and keep the proximate distance of the electrifying part constant, and a pressing part pressing in the image carrier direction at the abutting parts.
