PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inkjet recorder which can print images of a high resolution and a high quality at a high speed while upsizing of recording heads and the whole apparatus is suppressed. SOLUTION: A plurality of the recording heads (recording heads 51YA, 51MA, 51CA and 51BA, and recording heads 51YB, 51MB, 51CB and 51BB) which carry out printing of the same color are set. Each of the recording heads is constituted to make a length (H1) in an arrangement direction of nozzles 54 smaller than a maximum printing width (L) of a paper P of a printable maximum size, and to move within the range of the maximum printing width (L) in a direction (direction X) orthogonal to a transfer direction (direction Y) of the paper P.
