PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder which can transmit image data at a high speed without increasing hardware costs. SOLUTION: The image recorder which records images by a recording head 15 is equipped with a data generating part 34, a synthesizing part 36, and an image recording control part 40. The data generating part 34 divides inputted image data to image data A (first half part of the image data) to be transmitted via an image data line 52 and image data B (second half part of the image data) to be transmitted via a printing clock line 54, and transmits the image data A via the image data line 52 according to a printing timing signal inputted from a pulse encoder 26. The synthesizing part 36 generates a printing clock according to the printing timing signal and also transmits the image data B via the printing clock line 54 by adding the image data to the generated printing clock. The image recording control part 40 controls image recording of the recording head 15 on the basis of the image data A and image data B inputted via the image data line 52 and the printing clock line 54, and the printing clock.
