A method for raising access capacity of wide-band access equipment user, includes: establishing a VlanIP and corresponding Tag; establishing a VlanCI and corresponding Tag corresponding to the access port ;grouping the access ports; assigning the established VlanPIs to every group; afterwards, determining the VlanCI corresponding to the access port before transmitting a Ethernet frame; inserting the VlanCI Tag identifying the VlanCI in standard Ethernet frame ;determining the corresponding V1anPI corresponding to the group of access port ;inserting the VlanPI Tag identifying the VlanPI in standard Ethernet frame ;and then , transmitting the said Ethernet frame to upwards equipment by the wide-band access equipment directly connected to the upwards equipment through upwards port The present invention raises the access capacity of equipment user supports more than 4096 users access ; reduces the amount of optical fiber directly connected between BAS equipment and wide-band access equipment ,and also reduces the cost ; supports 4096 or more VLANs .
