<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communication system in which both sides of a transmitter and a recipient can confirm still images with a sufficient time as needed and can switch smoothly a moving video and a still image. <P>SOLUTION: When the still image which is imaged or recorded with a camera 101 or is received and the still image is displayed during a moving video communication with the camera 101, a PC 103 stores a still image display time duration, measures a lapse time from a time point displaying the still image by a timer 304, and displays the still image until the measured lapse time reaches the still image display time. After it reaches the still image display time, when it receives the moving image from the camera 101, the moving image is displayed.
