PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide particles for a picture display medium, with which fusion of the particles at high temperature and/or adhesion of the particles in the case of being left are suppressed, by using a heat resistant and copolymerizable monomer at least in a part of a monomer which is a material for the particles for the picture display medium and improving the heat resistance of the resin as a whole. SOLUTION: The particles for the picture display medium, with which fusion of the particles at high temperature and/or adhesion of the particles in the case of being left are suppressed and of which the heat resistance of the resin as a whole is improved, is obtained by using the particles for the picture display medium, which are nearly spherical particles produced by suspension polymerization of a material for the particles containing the monomer, wherein a part or the entirety of the monomer is heat resistant and copolymerizable, as the particles for the picture display medium used for the picture display device, displaying a picture by sealing in one or more kinds of picture display mediums 3W, 3B, comprising at least one or more kinds of particles, between two substrates 1, 2 of which at least one is transparent and which are placed opposite to each other, and transferring the picture display media with an electric field generated in the substrates.
