PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which is equipped with a collapsible zoom lens and can reduce the size of an optical system along the optical axis in a collapsed state. SOLUTION: A lens barrel 2 having one-group lenses 11 and 12, two-group lenses 13 and 14, and a focusing lens 15 is collapsed in a camera body 3 when a picture is not taken. A one-group cylinder 9 holding the one-group lenses 11 and 12 and a lens frame 16 which holds the two-group lenses 13 and 14 retract along the optical axis associatively with the rotation and linear movement of a cam cylinder. When the cam cylinder 7 moves back in collapsing operation along the optical axis while rotating, a projection part formed at the rear end of the cam cylinder 7 engages a flank of a lens frame 17 of the focusing lens 15. After the engagement, the lens frame 17 is driven by the rotation of the cam cylinder 7 to rotate on a guide shaft 23 and the lens frame 17 moves onto the flank of the cam cylinder 7.
