PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which is highly brilliant, light in weight and small in size and, moreover, has high mechanical durability. SOLUTION: The display device 1 is provided with at least a display panel 4, a first protective layer 5 which covers one side surface of the display panel 4 and has viscoelasticity and a second protective layer 6 which covers the first protective layer 5 and has a modulus higher than that of the first protective layer 5.
