The apparatus has a store (21), a bell (43) which is arranged therein, and a discharge (61) which is provided with at least one line (37, 39, 41), leading downwards from the interior of the bell (43), and a syphon (63). The store (21) is mounted such that it can rotate about a vertical rotational axis and the discharge (61) is connected to distributor lines (59). On the bell (43) there is fastened a syphon-type aerating line (47) which connects the interior of the bell (43) to the store interior which surrounds the latter, the opening (47b) which is located outside the bell (43) and belongs to the aerating line (47) being arranged beneath the opening (47a), of the latter, situated in the bell (43). The apparatus thus forms a self-running rotary sprinkler as well as a means for charging the distributor lines (59) of the rotary sprinkler at intervals. The apparatus takes over its operation of its own accord even when the discharge syphon (63) is free of water, produces satisfactory charging at intervals in the case of any low water supply per unit of time in the store (21), and makes possible a simple construction of the bell (43). <IMAGE>
