<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power supply conversion system for a tire electronic device embodied in a simple and small construction and at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The system and method for generating electric power from the mechanical energy of a tire 16 rotating have a piezoelectric power generation device 60 having an electric power collection adjusting module 14 as annex. A piezoelectric structure 60 is installed inside the tire structure, and electric charges are generated when a wheel assembly runs on the ground. The electric power collection adjusting module connected with the electrode of the piezoelectric structure rectifies the current fed from the piezoelectric structure, adjusts it, and stores in a multi-stage storage, favorably a plurality of capacitors 45 and 55. This allows accomplishing a voltage source adjusted from the energy stored in the power generation device, being used to supply electric power selectively to any of various electronics systems integrated within a tire or wheel assembly, and by way of example, a tire monitoring system can be named which transmits the information such as the tire pressure, tire temperature, identification variables, etc. wirelessly to a receiver located remotely. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
