PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array substrate capable of increasing driving frequency for solving or improving flicker or the like, and to provide its driving method. SOLUTION: The array substrate 10 has a plurality of pixels 12 arrayed in length and width. Each pixel 12 comprises a first scanning line 14, a second scanning line 16 disposed in parallel to the first scanning line 14, a first signal line S(M)a in solid crossing with the first scanning line 14 and the second scanning line 16, a second signal line S(M)b in solid crossing with the first scanning line 14 and the second scanning line 16, a first switching element 22 disposed on a crossing part between the first scanning line 14 and the first signal line S(M)a; and a second switching element 24 disposed on a crossing part between the second scanning line 16 and the second signal line S(M)b.
