<p>A composition (I) for detecting and differentiating renal tumors, comprising investigating cells from suspected tumor tissue in the kidneys for genetic abnormalities, comprising DNA probes for various chromosomes, i.e. at least the chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 17 and optionally also chromosome 9, is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) using (I), involving investigating cells from suspected tumor tissue in the kidneys with the probes and using specific abnormalities of regions of the chromosomes to indicate a sub-type of renal tumor; and (2) a corresponding kit, containing DNA probes for the chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 17, labeled by different fluorescent dyes and dissolved in suitable buffer(s).</p> |
