PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine start control device capable of securing electrical reliability without increasing components for abnormality detection. SOLUTION: The engine start control device is equipped with a switch 127 for turning on/off supply of electric power to a starter motor of an engine, a first switch element 131 for a starter and a second switch element 152 for a starter connected in series to an electric power supply circuit to the starter motor, a first control means 126 for successively turning on/off the first switch element for a starter and the second switch element for a starter on the basis of operation of the switch 127, a voltage detection means 144 for detecting voltage at a connecting point P between the first switch element for a starter and the second switch element for a starter and a second control means 126 for detecting an abnormality of the first switch element for a starter and the second switch element for a starter by the voltage at the connecting point detected by the voltage detection means.
