The invention relates to a method for operating an injection moulding machine. A force F<SUB>actual</SUB> is measured during an opening and/or closing movement of a tool half along a path S<SUB>0</SUB>, and the force F<SUB>actual</SUB> is compared to a maximum permissible force F<SUB>max</SUB> and/or a minimal permissible force F<SUB>min</SUB>. A time measurement starts when the force F<SUB>max</SUB> is exceeded and/or when the force F<SUB>min</SUB> is not met. A drive of the tool half is switched off when the exceeded force F<SUB>max</SUB> and/or when the force F<SUB>min</SUB> which falls short exceeds a predetermined duration of time ?t<SUB>0</SUB>. |
