A method for deposition of a layer on a razor blade edge of a razor blade, the layer comprising two components, is disclosed. In an enclosure comprising at least a first and a second sputter targets, each sputter target comprises at least one of the components to be deposited on the edge and is adapted, in operation, to release in the enclosure the component. The method comprises a step (a) wherein the razor blade is moved alternately in the vicinity of each target.
