<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a nuisance to a user due to inconvenience in change of a character size since a function menu must be called once and switched for changing the character size and a font size of the changed character can be known only after change of setting. <P>SOLUTION: When a CPU 12 determines that no font display change area is set, a font size of a character string, for which a link tag displayed in emphasized format is set, as a character font size change objective character string is shrunk in display by one dot angle from the currently displayed character font size when shrinking directional operation is repeated continuously by an operation key 18. As to a character font for dots of a lower limit value, further dot shrinkage of the character font is not carried out. In expansion, the character font size is increased by one dot angle from the currently displayed one in a similar manner every time when the operation key 18 is operated.
