IMAGE FORMATION DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible with a simple composition to enlarge the magnification-adjustable range in the main scanning direction while preventing the quality of image from degrading.

SOLUTION: The adjustable range for image data (range wherein image degradation not to be generated) is established for the amount of correction of image data (ordinate-axis of graphic chart). A main-scan magnification correction section 70a enables an output-image magnification to be adjusted within the range in the direction of abscissa-axis from symbol-A to -F without making the quality of image degraded because of that a clock selector 82 can select either one of a standard clock, high-speed clock and low-speed clock and change it by controlling CPU68. A part of the range of image magnification in the main scanning direction wherein the adjustment is made in synchronizing with the low-speed clock or the high-speed clock overlaps to the range of image magnification in the main scanning direction wherein the adjustment is made in synchronizing with the standard clock.
