<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus wherein a pulse width and a pulse position are easily set in an LUT (look up table) circuit. <P>SOLUTION: An image on a photoreceptor is irradiated with a laser beam, and a toner is attached to the irradiated part to form test patterns. Test patterns having the same on-pixel density, but different relative positions, are compared with each other, and by adjusting a pulse width and a pulse position according to a comparison result, an image quality of an outputted image is kept constant, even when the photoreceptor is deteriorated with elapse of time and a relation between the exposure of the photoreceptor and a formed image density is changed. A user always obtains an outputted image of an image quality as expected by setting the pulse width and the pulse position every time the power source of the image forming apparatus is turned on. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
