<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat plate fluorescent lamp and a liquid crystal display device having it. <P>SOLUTION: This flat plate fluorescent lamp includes a lamp body having an internal space divided into a large number of discharge spaces, an external electrode formed on the outer surface of the lamp body perpendicularly to the large number of discharge spaces, and a hollow electrode mounted to the inner surface of the lamp body correspondingly to the external electrode, and disposed in each of the large number of discharge spaces. The hollow electrode has a rectangular parallelepiped shape the inside of which is hollow. Accordingly, discharge voltage to drive the flat plate fluorescent lamp can be lowered, and discharge efficiency can be enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
