<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass composition which is Pb free, is excellent in a temperature characteristic (TCR) and can realize a low resistance thick film resistor having a small aging change. <P>SOLUTION: The glass composition for the thick film resistor contains the following composition. As one type or two types or more selected from ZnO, Cr<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and CuO, it is desirable to include the CuO. The glass composition is mixed with a conductive material and an organic vehicle, and made to a paste for the thick film resistor. This is, for example, printed, printed out, and made to the thick film resistor. The one type or two types or more selected from CaO, SrO and BaO are 10-35 mol%, B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>is 20-40 mol%, SiO<SB>2</SB>is 20-40 mol%, and MnO is 0-15 mol%.
