PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically arrange image data on a page of an electronic album with the proper number of sheets and a layout even if a user does not consider the balance of the album as a whole. SOLUTION: When the electronic album is edited using a program on a personal computer, an image allotment table in which the total number of sheets of images arranged in the electronic album is associated with the number of sheets sorted into each page is held and according to the image allotment table, the selected image data are arranged in each page of the electronic album. In addition, a plurality of kinds of image arrangement layouts exist by the number of sheets of an image in each page and the image is arranged on the page according to the image arrangement layout selected according to the number of images allocated to the page.
