PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile AV device capable of instructing a home server to perform video recording without requiring a special operation by a user, the home server performing video recording in response to the video recording instruction, and a remote video recording system comprising them. SOLUTION: When a field strength detecting section 23 detects the fact that the broadcast radio wave cannot be sustained with a sufficient strength, a mobile AV device 2 generates a video recording instruction based on information about a program under viewing/listening acquired at a mobile tuner section 22 and transmits the video recording instruction to a home server. Upon receiving the video recording instruction, the home server performs video recording of the broadcast which is under viewing/listening through the mobile AV 2 according to the video recording instruction.
