PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of protecting preset information for image display upon sudden power source shutdown. SOLUTION: The image display device comprises an image display part 441, a control means 6 and a power supply means 51. The control means 6 includes a main control system 61 that controls the whole device; a display control system 62 that is in communication with the main control system 61 and controls the image display part 441 by means of a signal of the main control system 61; and a memory 63 into which the preset information for image display is written by means of a signal of the display control system 62. The power supply means 51 includes power shutdown detection parts 5111, 5122, 5123 that monitor the power supply state of an external power source and output power source shutdown signals to the display control system 62 upon the power supply shutdown and a power retaining part 5113A that supplies a retaining power upon the power shutdown. The display control system 62 includes a communication shutdown part that shuts down the communication with the main control system 61.
