PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling apparatus of a welding machine with which a welding truck suspended from a welding machine beam in an offset manner is reliably and safely supported, thereby correct welding can be performed and the number of working steps and the working cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: The traveling apparatus of the welding machine includes a horizontally provided welding machine beam 2, a welding truck 10 supported by the welding machine beam 2 in an offset-traveling manner, and a welding nozzle 15 fixed to the welding truck 10. The welding machine beam 2 has on its upper surface one linear motion bearing rail 3 and one straight gear rack 4 provided parallel to each other along the longitudinal direction. The welding truck 10 includes a linear motion bearing 13 to be engaged with the linear motion bearing rail 3 on the upper surface of the welding machine beam 2, a pinion 32 to be engaged with a tooth profile of the straight gear rack 4, and a wheel 14 rolling on the upper surface along the straight gear rack 4. A truck body 12 of the welding truck 10 is suspended and supported along a side face of the welding machine beam 2, the side face being opposite from a side face close to the linear motion bearing rail 3.
