PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reservoir which is adapted to readily form a float guide, reduce costs, operate a liquid level detector stably and constantly regardless of the layout of the reservoir, and change the shape of the reservoir properly independent of the location of the liquid level detector. SOLUTION: The liquid level detector 5 is composed of a lead switch 6 mounted on the bottom wall 3d of the reservoir 3, the float guide 8 which is erected on the bottom wall 3d around the lead switch 6 and forms a float chamber 7 that is inside the float guide 8 and communicates with a liquid storage chamber 4, and a float 10 which moves up and down in response to variations in the level of an operating liquid and changes the lead switch 6. The bottom wall 3d around the lead switch 6 is provided with a projecting float guide fitting part 3g. The float guide 8 has a fitting part 8d which is formed on the lower end of the float guide 8 to be fitted on the float guide fitting part 3g, and a regulating part 8d which is formed on the top of the float guide 8 to be in contact with the upper face of the float 10 and regulate its upward move.
