In apparatus for separating gas streams contaminated with oil and emulsion components, consisting of a housing (21) containing filter(s) (24, 26) and having inlet opening(s) (22) and outlet opening(s) (23) at the impure and pure gas sides respectively, (a) the inlet opening has a fixing arrangement (29) on the edge section (28) at the impure gas side for a mounting connection, (b) a fixing arrangement (29) at the pure gas side of the outlet opening is connectable to another housing (21) and (c) the pure and impure gas sides of the housing are fixable by a connector to other housing parts. An independent claim is included for a variant of the apparatus, with the housing, filter(s) and inlet and outlet openings, where (alternatively or in addition to the fixing arrangements as above) at least one tensioning device (41) grips the filter(s) (24, 26). The tensioning device fixes the filter(s) to an inlet or outlet opening in its closed position; and is convertible to an open position (at least partially released from the houding) for extraction of the filter(s).
