<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an engine from wasting its output torque and to improve the response characteristic of acceleration, by temporarily fixing speed change ratio of a continuously variable transmission under a condition that the engine sufficiently provides its surplus output torque existing when a vehicle is controlled being accelerated. CONSTITUTION:While a vehicle is in running, a controller 50 calculates output torque of an engine on the basis of outputs of a throttle sensor 56 and an engine speed sensor 58. And when the vehicle is controlled to be accelerated, an increase rate Te of the output torque and an increase rate thetath of a throttle opening are calculated on condition with no 100% throttle valve opening, thereafter increase rate ratio Te/ thetath is decided for whether or not it is larger than a preset fixed value. Since this ratio Te/ thetath shows that the larger is the ratio the larger the engine 10 generates surplus output torque, when this decision result is YES, speed change ratio is controlled so as to be fixed only for the predetermined time.</p> |
