<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information superimposed display system for quickly and easily executing the superimposed display of information related with a printed matter on the real visual field of the printed matter. <P>SOLUTION: This information superimposed display system is provided with an imaging part 104 for imaging a printed matter 110 under a digital block copy, an image recognition part 106 for specifying a printed matter 110 by image recognition, a printed matter information storage part 122 for storing electronic information and secondarily added printed matter information, an electronic information display part 101 for displaying the specified printed matter information and a semi-transparent optical element 102 for executing the superimposed display of the printed matter information. At least the imaging part 104 and the electronic information display part 101 and the semi-transparent optical element 102 are installed in a personal digital assistant 100. The printed matter information storage part 122 is installed in a computer 102 capable of communicating with the personal digital assistant 100.
