<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily register image data by area in image list and to facilitate an image processing. <P>SOLUTION: One or more areas are set based on position information along the body axial direction of a subject and the series of the image list are set to correspond to the set areas. The series of the image list are determined from the position information held in the image data. The image data are sorted to the applicable series and automatically registered. Consequently, the image data are easily sorted to the image list and registered.
