<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of improving durability of fuel cells. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system comprises: a fuel battery stack 1 consisting of many unit cells 10 each formed with an electrolyte film 101 having a fuel electrode 102a on one surface and an oxidant electrode 102c on the other, further a gas diffusion layer 103a disposed in face-to-face relationship with the fuel electrode 102a, and a gas diffusion layer 103c with the oxidant electrode 102c; and a DC power supply that is selectively connected to the fuel battery stack 1 so as to be the positive pole at the fuel electrode 102a side and the negative pole at the oxidant electrode 102c side. Herein, metal ions generated in the oxidant pole 102c are reduced by applying a voltage to the fuel battery stack 1 at least during a system stopping control operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
