<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a single seamless combined image by stitching a plurality of images. <P>SOLUTION: This method includes a step of receiving image data and, if scanning is performed on a photosensitive element 206, a step of formatting a seamless combined image, in which different image fields are joined, into the different image fields.
